The Linklaters London Trainee Induction is an in-depth three-week programme, designed to ensure you learn the fundamentals before you start your first seat. You'll learn more about the firm and the work we do, whilst undertaking crucial training allowing you to understand our systems and processes, perform 'Day 1 trainee tasks' (proofreading, research and note taking) and have the tools and resources to look after your wellbeing.
We were the first law firm to establish a truly global development programme for entry-level lawyers. From the very beginning of your Linklaters journey, we want to give you the opportunity to start building your global network. That’s why our new trainee solicitors from across our international offices will come to London to join you on our Global New Lawyer Programme. You will receive foundation level training on essential skills that will support you in your new role as a Trainee Solicitor.
We recognise that each office and department has its own unique culture, but there are some core underlying themes that bind all Linklaters staff and partners. Our New Lawyer Programme outlines these and at the end you will have a better understanding of the firm’s resources, expectations, and the support available for you at the start of your career.
During your Training Contract you will rotate across 4 different seats (practice areas). Our aim is to ensure that trainees receive a good breadth and quality of experience, aiming to meet your preferences whilst meeting the firms' resourcing needs. In each seat you’ll have a dedicated principal who will help you to learn, develop and grow. In addition, you’ll have a dedicated trainee buddy who will guide you and be on hand to help you to navigate the firm.
We value constant development and training at Linklaters, and there will be an extensive array of training programmes available to you within your practice group, as well as ongoing internal training delivered by our Learning & Development team.
Our dedicated Trainee Development team will be with you every step of your journey, helping you to navigate your career, having ongoing career conversations, supporting you when picking your seat options and making decisions around qualification.
