I grew up in Antwerp and graduated in Leuven, then took an LL.M in tax law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. I also achieved a Law and Finance MSc at the University of Oxford, in the UK. I was impressed by the excellent reputation of both Linklaters as a firm and of their people, so applied and started working as an Associate in the Banking & Capital Markets practice group in 2013, right after graduating from Oxford.

Ever since, working at Linklaters has lived up to expectations. Team spirit and wellbeing at work are high on the agenda. Because the recruitment process at Linklaters puts so much emphasis on the personality of candidates, our teams are diverse, made up of truly great people, all experts in their respective fields. It means you can pick up your phone and call any lawyer in our global network and they’ll help with your challenges. And Linklaters empowers young Associates to manage client relationships and grow their professional networks.

Perhaps though, what I like best of all is positive feedback from clients, and the satisfaction of closing a deal. As a legal advisor you’re often dealing with complex issues in challenging circumstances. By understanding our clients’ issues, I can give the right advice, and contribute in an important way to solving their problems. It makes all the effort worthwhile.

Linklaters also lets you decide how your career unfolds, whether in an advisory role or a more transactional capacity, or perhaps in litigation. At first, working at a firm like Linklaters, the road ahead may appear steep. But don't let that hold you back from applying. We provide great support and training for junior lawyers, while colleagues are there to help you progress. And whatever you do, you won't be alone.
