In a lot of ways, Linklaters Stockholm combines the scale of an international law firm with the personal relationships you might expect of a smaller one.

Compared with other international firms, what stands out at Linklaters is the mindset of people. Everyone is focused on doing what’s best for the client, regardless of how new the relationship is or how distant we are geographically. Interesting, intelligent and driven people work at Linklaters - people you want to spend time with outside of work. Many of us build relationships that last for decades, or even a lifetime. Our office in Stockholm is relatively small compared to the biggest Swedish law firms, and that also helps to support our collegial atmosphere.

However, if you compare Linklaters to local law firms in Stockholm, a key point of difference is our global reach. Being one of the world’s biggest and most successful law firms brings with it lots of benefits. There’s a huge breadth and depth of resources at our disposal, not to mention a fantastic range of clients. With that come challenges, of course. You need to enjoy working hard to bring in new business and build relationships if you're going to enjoy a long career here.

I started at Linklaters as a Summer Associate in 2004, then re-joined the firm in 2005 after graduating from the University of Stockholm, as part of the Junior Associate Programme. I also spent time studying law at the University of Manchester.

You don't need to know where to specialise right away – you’ll have time to work that out. The key to success is to keep an open mind, do your best, and keep doing it. And last but not least, have fun!
